Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor.

Hannah D’Souza is an Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor. She upholds the understanding that one style of therapy cannot suit all people therefore she tailors her therapy to suit the needs of her clients. She has a BSc (Hons) Degree in Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling and is a member of the BACP.

Hannah offers Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which pinpoints and eradicates negative thinking and unhealthy behaviours. It focuses on practical ways to improve your current issues and anxieties. In doing so it allows you to maintain a healthier more fulfilling lifestyle.

Hannah’s person-centred approach offers a non-judgemental, confidential space filled with empathy and acceptance, that encourage you to be yourself. Through self-awareness and a robust therapeutic relationship, you are able to experience personal growth.

Hannah also uses psycho-dynamic techniques to identify the origin of the thoughts and behaviours that harm and hinder you. By working through any unresolved issues, you are able to let go of negative past experiences and build healthier relationships with yourself and others.

Being of mixed origin, Hannah is aware of the under-representation of both her ethnic groups within the field of counselling and the cultural issues which effect both these groups and many others. She therefore endeavours to offer a level of personal understanding between her clients, as well as make use of her passion for engaging and helping others.

Hannah has worked in a wide variety of counselling settings including the NHS, schools, criminal justice system etc and so has extensive experience working ethically with various issues. These include those experiencing mental health conditions (e.g. depression, anxiety, eating disorders), upsetting physical health conditions, difficult life events (trauma, bereavement, abuse), difficult emotions and other issues such as sexual identity.
