Contrary to popular belief the client always maintains total control with the therapist merely acting as a guide to accessing the individual’s unconscious mind. Anyone can experience a trance state if they want to. This is when mental focus is more limited, more absorbed and often directed internally, it’s at this stage when the conscious mind is less dominant than the unconscious mind and is more available and open to positive suggestions.

Are you struggling with fertility problems? If you are considering IVF or are already in a cycle using hypnosis as an additional therapy may significantly increase your chances. 25% of infertility is still unexplained which means that stress could be a major factor in preventing conception.

When we are in a state of hypnosis by directing our attention towards increasing comfort, the parasympathetic nervous system is activated, giving rise to the relaxation response. When we activate this relaxation response we enter a state of deep relaxation. This response works in opposition to the ‘fight or flight response’ and counteracts the body’s physical and emotional response to stress which allows it to return to a calm balanced state. While in this state there is a measurable decrease in heart rate, blood pressure, breathing rate, stress hormone levels and muscle tension giving you a wonderful feeling of relaxation.

During my sessions you will learn self-hypnosis and positive visualisations to help you find a relaxed state allowing you to release the stress around what you’re going through and create positive conditions for you to conceive naturally wherever you are on your fertile journey.


HypnoBirthing is a complete birth education programme for you and your partner. The aim is to help you prepare your body for labour and is becoming increasingly popular as you will learn some basic knowledge of the physical process together with self-hypnosis skills. Scientific studies have shown hypnosis to reduce the need for medical /surgical intervention and reduce labour time. Helping you to access a calm and relaxed state with positive suggestions can encourage a calm, comfortable and natural birth and can give your birth partner a role to play.

The programme consists of three two hour sessions after 30 weeks in which you will learn many tools to help you have a relaxed and controlled birth. Homework will give you and your birth partner tools to practise in the comfort of your own home leading up to the birth.
