Jessica is a fully qualified and insured Nutritional Therapist, registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT).
She has a BSc in Nutritional Therapy from University of West London (UWL) and a level 6 Diploma from the British College of Nutrition and Health (BCNH). In addition, Jessica also has a BA (Hons) in Psychology from Kristianstad University.
Jessica has a special interest in digestive health, stress management, cognitive and mental wellbeing and the fundamental links between our physical and emotional health. She focuses not only on nutrition and food, but also includes lifestyle interventions for clients to improve wellbeing and quality of life.
With a background in hospitality prior to training in Nutrition and Psychology, Jessica aims to combine her love for great tasting food with nutrition and wellbeing interventions and help people find joy in eating nutritious and delicious food.
Jessica’s work is based on the functional medicine approach developed by the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), where instead of “treating” symptoms, the aim is to find the root cause(s) of health concerns and symptoms. She has experience working with individuals with a wide range of symptoms and health conditions but Nutritional therapy is not only beneficial for individuals with health concerns and it can also be helpful for optimising the wellness of already healthy individuals.
Jessica’s advice and approach is based on each individual and she does not believe that there are any set protocols or diets which are suited to everyone. What works for one individual may not work for another and working closely alongside each client is key to reaching positive results- listening to each client’s story and implementing changes in stages- focusing on the interventions which will have the most positive impact initially.
It is Jessica’s strongest belief that nutrition and health does not have to be complicated and that there needs to be a sense of enjoyment as part of every nutrition and lifestyle program.
There are so many aspects of one’s life which need to be looked at in order to truly feel well and nutrition is of course a key part but by far the only one and Jessica’s scientific approach integrates lifestyle and nutrition to help individuals on their wellness journey.
